During the GEO Global Forum2025, our PO Vasilis Kalogirou referred to the UNICORN project while speaking in the Community Event Session 10: "Copernicus: Earth Observation Services in Support of EU Policies, Market Uptake and Broader Earth Intelligence."
This session focused on how Copernicus, the EU’s flagship Earth Observation programme, supports the integration of hashtag#EO data with broader information sources to enhance Earth Intelligence – delivering sustained, actionable services for policy and decision-making.
The mention of UNICORN underlines the relevance of the project in this evolving landscape and how projects under Horizon Europe are actively contributing to the implementation of EU policies.
Copernicus evolves continuously to address emerging needs and requirements through new research and technology developments to ensure it remains state-of-the-art and evolves with GEO post-2025 priorities.
The objective of the session was to demonstrate the benefits of Copernicus in supporting EU policies and promoting market uptake of Earth Observation and to emphasize its contribution to broader Earth Intelligence and decision-making.
